Midday Charm has set her paw prints firmly in the Irish record books for Drag Hunting today with her 10th straight victory in the senior ranks, I did a bit of research and i'll chance my arm and say it's a feat that has never been done in the history of the sport, the bitch ran away from the pack today as she headed for the tape for her jublient trainers Andrew & Darren O'Callaghan, The O'Callaghan family are no strangers to success in the sport of drag hunting and have landed all the major honours over the years & continue to do so in the 2017 campaign.
Midday Charm bred out of Sophie's Choice (Cccha puppy champion) & Schwarzenegger, The hound was puppy champion with 18 wins breaking the record for most wins by a bitch pup,
In 2016 she was crowned Senior champion, Midday surprise ( Senior Champion )was her grandmother and was also a record breaker, being the only hound pup ever to win a puppy all Ireland & a week later went on to win the senior all Ireland trophy as well, A feat which is quite remarkable considering some trainers have been in the sport for 30 years plus with great hounds and have never won an All Ireland.
The 4 year old hound has notched up 40 career wins to date & with the international fast approaching it would be nice to see this bitch continue her excellent spell of form and land the honours of 2017 International Winner, it's mathematically possible that she could also have the Senior championship won by the time the international arrives, you would be a brave man to bet against her not doing it.
You have to tip your hat off to the hound she's committed to her task week in week out iv'e only admiration for the hound & wish her every success , could she go unbeaten all season ? Some will say not a hope but anything is possible & I hope i get the opportunity to write about it.
